HELD in Rhythm

One-to-one restorative bodywork and ceremony

A deeply held, one-to-one process for integration, regulation, and repair.

This work is not tied to a specific life event. It is for moments when the body has carried too much for too long — after birth, loss, illness, or periods of stress, overwhelm, or transition.

To be held in rhythm is to be supported back towards a sense of safety, coherence, and rest.

A woman in a cream-colored dress with red star patterns and lace details on the sleeves and hem, standing and reaching towards a cake on a table, with a person lying on a couch in front of her.

What this ceremony is

HELD in Rhythm is a private, one-to-one process combining body-based practices with elements of ceremony.

It is a sustained, attentive space in which you are worked with directly.

The work draws on traditional rebozo techniques (wrapping), rhythmic drumming, and steady, grounded presence to support the nervous system to settle and release tension.

Each session is shaped in dialogue with you, responding to what’s present and needed.

What happens

On the day, I prepare a quiet, contained space.

We begin by settling together, through breath, scent, and attention.

From there, the work becomes more direct and body-based.

The session may include:

– Rebozo work, wrapping and holding the body
– Touch-based practices such as massage and anointing
– Rhythmic drumming to support regulation
– Periods of stillness and deep rest

Throughout, you’re supported to settle, release, and gradually return to a sense of internal coherence.

The session closes slowly, allowing time for integration before returning to everyday activity.

Why it matters

At certain times in life, the body needs direct support.

This work offers a way of meeting what’s been held internally — physically, emotionally, and neurologically — without needing to force release or analyse it.

Rather than working through talking about what’s happened, it works through the body.

Over time, this can restore a sense of safety, continuity, and connection to oneself.
